What we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Written to be read.
What this covers
This policy explains what TrackMyPrep ("we", "us") collects when you use the website at trackmyprep.com, the web app at app.trackmyprep.com, and the Android and iOS apps, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Your mobile number. Used to sign you in with a one-time code and, if you opt in, to send deadline reminders.
- Profile details you give us. Name, qualification, date of birth, state and category. These are used only to work out which exams you are eligible for and to relax age limits correctly.
- What you do in the app. The exams you track, topics you tick, check results, mock scores, streaks and the conversations you have with PrepAI. This is your data; it is stored so the app can show it back to you.
- Device information. A push notification token if you allow notifications, and basic device and app version details used to fix crashes.
- Payment records. Which plan you bought, when, and the transaction reference from our payment processor. We never receive or store your card number, UPI PIN or bank credentials.
What we do with it
- Run the service: sign you in, sync your progress between devices, send the reminders you asked for.
- Work out eligibility and apply category relaxations.
- Answer your PrepAI questions. Messages you send to PrepAI are processed by an AI model provider to generate the reply. They are not used to train models and are not linked to your identity by the provider.
- Fix problems and understand which features are used, in aggregate.
- Reply when you contact us.
We do not sell your data, share it with coaching institutes or advertisers, or use it for advertising.
Who else sees it
Only the services needed to run the product: our hosting provider, the SMS provider that delivers your one-time code, the payment processor, the push notification services run by Apple and Google, and the AI model provider that powers PrepAI. Each receives only what it needs for its job.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. If you delete your account from inside the app, your profile, progress and conversations are removed from our systems within thirty days. Payment records are kept for the period required by Indian tax law.
Your choices
- Turn reminders off in the app or in your phone settings at any time.
- Delete any PrepAI conversation from inside the app.
- Edit your profile details whenever they change.
- Delete your account from the profile screen. You can also email us to do it for you.
- Ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you.
Children
TrackMyPrep is for people preparing for government recruitment exams and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the current version.
